Saw someone say “it’s better to live to fight another day” about the latest organizations caving, and not noticing the important part about that is that THEY HAVE TO ACTUALLY FIGHT AT SOME POINT, otherwise you’re just endlessly ceding ground! They never do that!

This is why even calling it AI is not just wrong, it's evil.
A lot of people have spent a lot of money to convince people that their environmentally cataclysmic plagiarism machines are doing what sapient AI characters in fiction can do.

I think it comes from early neurological theories about how neurones in the visual cortex process images, which were then rhetorically generalised to 'this is how the brain works' at the time. As it happened, it didn't quite work out like that.

I just realized that since my new phone has an integral stylus I might be able to practically use the Graffiti Android keyboard I bought several years ago.
And yes, it's a mite slower than the tap tap keyboards but even rusty as I am (I still have to keep checking the chart) I make fewer mistakes.
