Keep the momentum going.
🚨 On May 1, 2025, in cities across the US, we will gather in solidarity—honoring the legacy of workers who organized for the 8-hour day.

Today, we face a new threat. A billionaire-backed minority is quietly reshaping our democracy.

BUT a peaceful People’s Movement is growing. 👉 www.FiftyFifty.one

TechDirt is doing the best combination of daily reporting that includes a "why this is important" analysis.

Excellent example:

"This is the line that due process draws: between a government bound by law and one ruled by whim, between justice and terror, between civilization and barbarism."
The Lawless Evil Of Denying Due Process
The U.S. government just demonstrated exactly why due process matters. In what should be a shocking admission, the Trump administration revealed in court that it had made a bit of an oopsie (they c…

Speaking up is important. Speaking from anger is energy-depleting over time.
Speaking from compassion is a more rewarding approach.

This essay from @brockm.bsky.social is an excellent example. (If you are not in a compassionate mood, read his "The Silence of the Reasonable" instead)
An Open Letter to Trump Supporters
I want to speak directly to those of you who have supported Donald Trump, whether in 2016, 2020, or now.

We need someone to manage our social media.
First rule: quote Mike Brock daily

It’s extremely alarming that Trump openly defying a court order is being covered as “Trump decides to not follow it” and not “Trump illegally defies court.” Or in the Washington Post’s case, not even mentioned at all

🚨BREAKING: It seems very clear that the Administration decided not to abide by the court's order. The question now is what will the judge do. Does he proceed with contempt or something short of that to defuse.

Upping the stakes is the fact that the AG and her senior staff signed this notice.

Whether Judge Boasberg was correct on the law is largely irrelevant to whether the government is in contempt for willfully disobeying it. If the Trump administration knew there was an order from a federal judge and then willfully violated it, that is the end of the analysis.
