Classical mythology is just soap operas + time
I'm still so mad at the NDP for letting things get so bad wrt leadership, organization, and strategy -- even, when they were effective-ish, doing dental care in the worst most reversible way possible!? -- that I don't *want* to get involved federally again, yet.

But I also think I should?

If you aren't a subscribe to Loonie Politics I highly recommend it. Dale knocks it out of the park every time (now if only Carney was a subscriber.)
For the late/west coast crowd, my Loonie Politics column on how the budget won't do any good if Carney doesn't give corporate Canada a kick in the ass to stop being lazy and just waiting for an American payday, and actually do some hard work #cdnpoli
Carney needs to be clear that we need an economic culture change - Loonie Politics
We can’t just cut more taxes or deregulate more and expect that to kickstart our struggling economy.

Tax breaks for companies encourage dividends and buybacks. If companies don't receive tax breaks they have an incentive to increase expenses (which lowers tax burden) by investing in improving the business, employee training, and other good things that benefit both the company and society.

Working with brilliant people is such a blessing and such a curse.

Pro: I learn cool new things ALL THE TIME

Con: There are few laurals to rest on and I feel wildly inadequate A LOT. What would be a great performance anywhere else is solidly average in comparison, and sometimes that's exhausting.

"Protestors are doing it wrong! You're having too much fun and sapping energy from more effective organizing!"

1. Disaffected moral superiority also saps energy.

2. Engagement is not a gas tank. It doesn't run dry eventually. Action begets action.

Shut up. Let people protest.

Well, my friends at @nationalobserver.com have created an incredibly cool new tool for keeping an eye on local politics.

And now it's pouring.

we're not going to have a good, sustainable social media site as long as it is made or run by tech people. that is why I am building my own out of water, small rocks, moss, snails, brightly colored shrimp, one of those sucking fish, a mermaid statue. I'll be honest, this may actually be an aquarium.

3/ Tech fascism in a nutshell: “Computers are so much more rule-based, controllable, fixable, and comprehensible than any human will ever be. As many political schools of thought do, these technolibertarians make a philosophy out of a personality defect.“ She wrote this in 2000!

1/ A longtime Wired editor just wrote a mush-brained essay about how he totally missed the political rot of Silicon Valley (& still doesn't get it).

But in the late 1990s, a Wired journalist warned of a toxic ideology bubbling up from tech. Paulina Borsook has largely been erased. Let's change that
