Make that nine anti-abortion judges: Collins just voted to confirm Joshua Dunlap to the First Circuit court of Appeals
So far in 2025, Collins has voted to confirm at least eight explicitly anti-abortion judges to lifetime seats on the federal judiciary. It seems plausible Collins knows she’s likely to lose next November and isn't even trying to court voters anymore. It’s no longer of concern to her.
NEW: Susan Collins, who claims to be pro choice, is raising money for an anti-abortion candidate who’s slated to lose the Virginia governor's race. A donor email sent on behalf of Winsome Earle-Sears comes as Collins' approval rating has plummeted to net negative 20 points. Me in @newrepublic.com:

Senate Republicans blocked a resolution demanding full funding for SNAP benefits.

This, as Trump still refuses to fully restore SNAP to 42 million Americans.

As we head into the midterms, don't forget: GOP lawmakers are fully complicit with Trump's weaponization of hunger.

A partial list of what Bovino does not have to tell a federal judge happened today:

*Agents deployed pepper spray in Albany Park & Evanston
*Agents were involved in a car crash in Evanston
*An agent pointed a gun at a woman in Evanston
BREAKING: Border Patrol chief Greg Bovino, who led a series of raids across Chicago, Evanston and Skokie on Friday, does not have to report every weekday at 6 p.m. in person to the federal judge who has tried to rein in federal agents’ use of force, an appeals court ruled. @wttw.bsky.social

He’s taking healthcare away from 15 million Americans and making it unaffordable for 22 million more

And using the shutdown as an excuse to deprive up to 42 million citizens-including children-of SNAP benefits

Yet is on the verge of directing the DOJ to pay him $230 million

It’s just so lawless

Trump named Pete Hegseth as defense secretray because he knew Hegseth wouldn't hesitate to order American troops to fire on American civilians. Sending the military into our cities is a major step toward imposing a dictatorship.

Why?

In part, because the destruction of USAID has made it near impossible to distribute the food.

Calculations suggest that it could have fed every starving child in Gaza for a week.

And roughly a million dollars up in smoke — due to DOGE.
