Trump's first FCC created this dumb Dish 5G network as a "fix" for the competition problems created by their rubber stamping of the Sprint-T-Mobile merger.

Now Trump's second FCC is "investigating" the problem they created because...Elon Musk wants the spectrum that Dish is using.

Incoherence.

FCC Chairman Brendan Carr said he plans to investigate EchoStar's efforts to build a 5G network across the US. EchoStar, for its part, is pushing back against the situation.

American citizens should not have to enter into a contract with a private company (that’s an X account signup!) to receive government communications
The NTSB says it will no longer email news outlets or reporters with notifications of upcoming press conferences, including those on plane crashes in Washington and Philadelphia.

Instead, all notifications will be made on X.

We're filing a FOIA to find out more about the change in policy.

I see Autism Speaks has had some large national fundraisers recently as part of Autism Awareness Month, so a reminder that they are pretty terrible as an organization, and see autism as something to be cured rather than accepted. Organizations run by folks with autism are in the linked article.

Technologies that allow us to do more with less (read: are efficient uses of resources) are the shit, my jam, and cool as hell.

Technologies which seemingly need more and more resources (energy, compute cores, human labor) to do questionable things at best are whack and you shouldn't like them.
