Ever noticed the exact date immigration went from noble pioneers heroically setting out to weave their story's thread into the vibrant tapestry of a new nation to a vile invasion by unwashed savages looking to mooch off our golden birthright tends to be the day after the speaker's ancestors arrived?

Let’s discard some stubborn misconceptions about Trump’s support and what happened in the 2024 election. They are only obscuring our understanding of a profound de-alignment.

As the piece is partially behind a paywall, I’ll share some key thoughts:

NEWS --> BBC confirms to me that they did edit a line out of historian @rutgerbregman.com's speech. It called Trump "the most openly corrupt president in US history."

BBC also confirms this was done on the advice of lawyers. So Trump's threats worked.

First, British Broadcasting Corporation execs resigned after Trump complained about a segment. Now the BBC edited out a line from a historian that was critical of Trump. Where does this end?

This is the conclusion reached by @ethz.ch researchers on the basis of new calculations. Efforts to reduce carbon emissions should therefore continue at pace"

📢 New paper on the impacts of AMOC collapse on European hydroclimate. 🌊
