💥 Russia lost $70 million daily oil export revenue: Ukraine used Neptune cruise missiles to strike an air defense military unit and oil export infrastructure at the Port of Novorossiysk.
Export of 2.2 million barrels/day halted - 2% of global crude & petroleum products supply.

I'm thinking of all the nasty stuff in Chomsky's record.

Denying the Cambodian genocide. Supporting Milosevic. Denying the Bosnian genocide. Undermining anti-Communist dissidents in Western academia. Cheering the death of Venezuelan democracy. Spreading Russian propaganda.

This is long overdue.
Can't wait to see him whatabout this one.

The centre-right at continental level sow the seeds of their own destruction.

Coordinating with the far right groups who largely support imperialist Russian aggression normalises enemies of rule of law, and de-legitimises themselves as a reliable option for voters.

This winter is decisive for the war.

The frontline is moving again. The fighting is intense and the death toll huge.

However, that doesn't threaten Ukraine as a state; its governability, economic viability, or livability.

Massive aerial assaults and undesirable events in the diplomatic arena do.

I don't think the Commission understands how much this attack on the GDPR will hurt innovation done by European companies, and instead cement Google's and Meta's position as the inescapable middle-men and turn our SMEs into their cash-cows. WAKE UP!
As we write in The Guardian this morning, the Commission’s plan to gut EU digital rules will hurt Europe’s startups and give U.S. tech an unassailable advantage, confirming Europe as a digital vassal.

the US will be a stable partner (or, for that matter, a stable country) when you can imagine a Republican winning the presidency and it not being apocalyptic
If the US system remains trapped in an endless knife fight between a party of good government and a party of nihilistic governance then Europeans need to accept that the US will no longer be a stable partner long after Trump is gone
I'd just like to point out that we spent an entire shipment of air defense interceptors' worth of money on new signs for a name change that isn't even legally the name of the DoD.

Ukraine is currently experiencing rolling blackouts from Russian strikes, btw.

Electoral system reform in the UK is long overdue. Starmer, with the current majority in parliament could implement the change.
I hear more talk of electoral system reform in the UK.

Advancing from FPTP to proportional representation would enable the democratic majority to enforce a cordon sanitaire and prevent Farage becoming PM.

The typical way to achieve this is to change from single seat to multi seat constituencies.

In a nutshell, this is why Europe needs to:

1. Federalise (pooled political sovereignty)
2. Anchor the broader region (trade sovereignty)

Our national leaders are incapable of governing our continent. The EU Council should be abolished and they should step back down to govern at national level.
This is what deindustrialization in a carbon shock therapy setting looks like. If the state doesn’t do the planning and redistribute any remaining surpluses downward, private equity will do the planning and redistribute any remaining surpluses upward (and out of country).

Say NO to adware masquerading as apps (Instagram, TikTok, Gmail...) and operating systems (Windows).
The report below shows how Google & Apple have made espionage by arbitrary actors trivial. Yet they remove precisely the kind of protection that could be used to bolster national security.

At this point the Commission is basically a Fifth Column of the Trump regime.
