@leahlitman.bsky.social said it best: “Political culture imagines that the Supreme Court safeguards the Constitution, when in reality it is chipping away at the constitutional rights of historically marginalized groups."
The Supreme Court is really “just vibes”
In a new book, legal podcaster Leah Litman describes how the GOP and its jurists are "just not that into democracy."

My LGBTQ friends knew I wasn't going to miss the most bigoted decision from this court. In case you missed it, Sam Alito's opinion in the "bigots are afriad of picture books" case is one of the most homophobic screeds ever from the SCOTUS.

Here's what's happening in counter-terrorism, if you're not someone who follows this kind of thing.

Basically, we were promised Jack Ryan, but he's been replaced with the cast of Reno 911, with no explanation. Everything is just as deadly, and you get fired if you ask about it.

Say thank you.

Dehumanization is the core conceit of apartheid. When you accept the premise that ANY difference can justify cruel disparities in treatment, then you open to door to subjectivity.

If we all agree it's OK sometimes, that leaves us to argue over the conditions under which apartheid is permitted.
