1/🧵 Much of the progress for LGBT+ rights in the 2010s came from powerful individuals and billionaires who had gay sons. They supported gay marriage largely to protect their inheritance.
As soon as it was achieved, the same so-called “allies” began funding anti-trans campaigns.

I might take on another business venture, parental controls for smartphones. I just know too much about this problem space and can command trust not to build something bad.

I really hate it when people smoke weed while walking just ahead of me, keeping the same fast pace as mine so I can’t even overtake them.

Equality & Human Rights Commission faces devastating challenge:
See press release & announcement.
Trans Exile Network supports this release and is yet to lodge its GANHRI submissions to strip EHRC of recognised status. 'Crowing' by the EHRC is sorely misjudged.

I think the scepticism is quite healthy. I still remember that a year ago everyone thought FWS would lose, and I was the only one who said that, since Ben Cooper lied so confidently about the strength of 1999 Regulations, SM might actually win.

The fact we hate the people who are attacking the BBC is not reason enough to defend it. Our enemies' enemy is not necessarily our friend.
Revealing division in my timeline between (1) my insider friends who have lived privileged lives who are very keen that we defend the BBC and think it's important it survives and (2) my outsider friends who feel (at best) ambivalent about the BBC's survival.

It's not right that people who merely have a medical degree and an opinion should have arbitrary access to personal medical data of trans patients without having to show to those patients that they are conducting research in good faith.

Aye. Without the ECHR, the far right Government of the day can repeal the GRA on a whim. They probably would. I think Badenoch would, certainly.
But all we can do in the meantime is be loud, visible and fight using all the avenues available to us.

I’ll definitely be in court tomorrow, but we probably won’t be able to live tweet unless the judge has changed their mind. I will take notes tho.
Last time I provided commentary, the Sex Matters goons used it to refine their case, so I won’t be making any.
