My intention is to sharpen and strengthen the process so that EGSC acts speedily, and monitors the actions agreed to ensure implementation. The plan is to broaden the agenda to include all BBC output - as all BBC programming, not just its journalism, is bound by editorial guidelines. Going forward, the Board will commit to re-visiting, each and every item set out in Michael Prescott's note, and take further action where appropriate. We will be transparent about the conclusions we reach and the actions taken.

Here’s my open letter to the Hampstead Heath charity and its sole trustee, the City of London Corporation. In it, I reminded them that they have the legal right to petition Parliament to preserve the existing trans-inclusive access arrangements.
The Trustee Hempstead Heath London EC2P 2EJ 10 November 2025 By email only Dear Chris Hayward, I still remember the first time I climbed Parliament Hill, looking out at the glittering sprawl of London spread beneath me. It felt endless then. Full of promise, alive with possibility. But over the years, that skyline has grown hazy, as if the city itself were whispering that there is a ceiling to how far someone like me, a trans person, is allowed to reach. I write to give a more detailed response to the public consultation on future access arrangements at Hampstead Heath’s swimming ponds. The consultation focuses on whether these ponds should continue to operate as trans-inclusive facilities. The consultation questionnaire on Commonplace lists several options. I am concerned that this could suggest the existing access arrangements may not be preserved, and that not all potential legal avenues to maintain them will be fully explored before any changes are made. If alternative options are explored before first taking steps to defend our existing practices and usages at these unique facilities, the consultation risks inadvertently lending undue credibility to the views of vindictive campaign groups that sought to curtail rights through the backdoor at the former Middlesex Guildhall, or the Supreme Court building. As Londoners, we possess both the right and the responsibility to govern our own affairs and to shape laws that reflect the distinctive realities and cosmopolitan character of our city. Accordingly, I recommend that, if preserving the existing access arrangements becomes untenable in light of the evolving interpretation of the relevant public general law, Hampstead Heath should seek a Personal Act of Parliament through the Private Bill procedure to maintain them. It seems to me that it could be shown, with relative ease, that granting Hampstead Heath and its Trustee a specific concession and exemption from certain provisions of the Equality Act 2010, together with a direction to preserve the current access arrangements, would be both necessary and expedient. Debating a measure of this kind adds meaningfully to the UK-wide conversation about our shared commitment to equality and inclusion. By using the Private Bill procedure, Parliament can not only deliberate, as it did in committee and Westminster Hall, where MPs voiced strong support for the trans community, but also give these values full legal force and help shape the tone of the wider policy debate. I appreciate your attention to these concerns and the opportunity to contribute to this important consultation. I am confident that the Trustee and its committees will consider the points raised and continue to ensure that Hampstead Heath’s swimming ponds remain welcoming and inclusive facilities for trans people. I’m getting really annoyed by the ICO.
Dear name redacted, Thank you for your prompt response and further inquiry. As you are aware, conducting an internal review is not a statutory requirement under the Freedom of Information Act 2000. A requestor is also not required to use the term "internal review" when seeking one. However, section 17(7) of FOIA provides that a public authority must, in any response issued to a request for information, inform the requestor whether it has an internal review procedure. This must include an explanation of how requestors may request an internal review, as well as informing them of their right to complain to the Information Commissioner under section 50 of FOIA if they are dissatisfied with the outcome of the review, or if no internal review procedure exists. I confirm that I have requested an internal review. NHS England's position is that it does not conduct internal reviews and, therefore, would not provide information regarding any internal review procedure. This complaint relates to: Issues under section 1 of FOIA; NHS England's position on not conducting internal reviews. No issues under section 12 of FOIA arise in this complaint. I trust this clarifies the position and I await your urgent determination regarding the eligibility.

Displaying passport holders' sex at birth no more offends equal protection principles than displaying their country of birth—in both cases, the Government is merely attesting to a historical fact without subjecting anyone to differential treatment. And on this record, respondents have failed to establish that the Government's choice to display biological sex "lack[s] any purpose other than a bare ... desire to harm a politically unpopular group." Trump v. Hawaii, 585 U.S. 667, 705(2018) (internal quotation marks omitted). Nor are respondents likely to prevail in arguing that the State Department acted arbitrarily and capriciously by declining to depart from Presidential rules that Congress expressly required it to follow. Lol, my Nintendo Switch Original is already 8 years old. The left Joy-Con doesn’t even click into place anymore. I’m so into Z-A that I play it on the go all the time, and the Joy-Con fell off and got lost. So I bought this vintage Pokémon-themed one.

Here’s my open letter to the EHRC.
To Chief Executive Equality and Human Rights Commission Arndale House, Manchester 5 November 2025 Dear John Kirkpatrick, I write further to the proposed judicial review in May and to make an intervention in relation to the Commission’s latest work on the production of a draft Code of Practice. It is regrettable that the Commission chose not to issue an apology for the risk that the Interim Update posed to the safety and wellbeing of the trans community. Instead, the Commission withdrew it, apparently with the intention of avoiding judicial review of its underlying legal and policy position. Namely, that the provision of trans-inclusive gendered services or facilities might be unlawful. The Minister has instructed the Commission to carry out a Regulatory Impact Assessment. As a businesswoman who is also trans, I welcome this requirement. It ensures that you cannot again place me in the position of being advised to act in a manner that would amount to discrimination against myself, only for that advice to be later withdrawn. You are reminded of your legal duty to act in accordance with the Human Rights Act 1998 and the Equality Act 2006. Attention is also drawn to the remarks of Michael O’Flaherty, Council of Europe Commissioner for Human Rights, who emphasised the need for clear guidance on ensuring the inclusion of trans people across all areas of society, and for limiting any exclusion to circumstances that are strictly necessary and proportionate under the European Convention on Human Rights. You are further reminded that this approach is consistent with the equivalent tests set out in domestic law under the Equality Act 2010. Interference by the State with civil liberties can never be based on a mere technicality, nor can it be imposed without objective justification. The shock-and-awe tactics underpinning the false claim that businesses must either oppress trans people or incur costs to modify facilities and services must end. The Commission must take decisive and unequivocal action to bring this debate to an end. I look forward to the outcome of the Regulatory Impact Assessment and to your evaluation of the practical options, such as providing gender-neutral facilities or services as a form of exempted, limited provision under Schedule 3 of the Equality Act 2010 for those who require it, while trans-inclusive arrangements and gender mainstreaming policies remain in place. Hey @equalityhumanright.bsky.social, I even told you that the best thing to do was to apologise for the harm you risked causing the trans community (without withdrawing your interim guidance). Now look how deep you’ve dug yourself in.
9. ADR proposals We would be amenable to any alternative means of resolving this matter consensually such as would avoid the need to commence a claim for judicial review. We are therefore willing to consider any proposed ADR made by the EHRC, although you would in all likelihood need to indicate that it is amenable to taking the action it is now requested to take as set out above. The Claimant is open to considering any proposals for ADR. As a starting point, we seek a public apology from the EHRC for the risk of harm caused to the trans community, to be issued as soon as possible and at least one week before the current consultation closes. However, we do not consider it necessary for the interim guidance to be withdrawn.
