I think Lucas wants us to read the Jedi Order as flawed.
Not evil (as some would claim)

I think there is a subtle distinction between Lucas’s depicting the decline of the Jedi in the prequels (not being as great they once were) and the (false) notion that the Jedi were straight up monsters.
They could have failed Anakin without doing anything “wrong” per se. Both things can be true.

Fuck it, Star Wars discourse grenade: saying the Jedi failed Anakin and didn't give him all the support he needed to stay good and so really it's their fault is basically the same two-step the media does when every white teen boy school shooter was clearly a troubled soul who needed understanding.

Strange New Worlds has its issues but I really loved season 3 episode 9 “Terrarium” and it’s excellent humanisation of the Gorn. The show has a rocky past with how it “others” the Gorn which felt not very Star Trek, but I’m delighted to see that they’re finally addressing this

I haven’t confused nostalgia with genuine artistic appreciation when considering literally any other piece of media I have consumed in my entire life.

Guys, I legit watched these movies when I had one of the worst break ups in my life when I was 22. Dude, I deeply respect the SW Prequels. Like, to where nostalgia isn't the reason.
If nostalgia is the only reason people like the prequels, why do so many people who have no nostalgia for them… enjoy them?
Could it be, perhaps, that they’re not “terrible” and actually have something to them that you don’t personally connect with?
But sure, okay, I guess you know better.
