Back in the '70s, a family friend was a nurse who cared mostly for cancer patients and started one of the first hospices in the area, and she swore someday researchers would find that cancers were caused or activated by viruses because, most of the time, the disease was so completely random.
It seems like many more diseases, including cancer, will eventually be linked to viruses.
