HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT HOLY SHIT

Look who we caught today! It’s a hatch year Eastern Towhee (born this year). A female would be brown and a male would be black, and this bird has female characteristics on one side and male on the other— a likely bilateral gynandromorph!!!

as a rule, I refuse to hawk anything for a company that I have not personally owned and loved. every time I got a twitter DM asking to pay me for a promo I said "no, but you can send me the product and I'll post about it." only one company ever did, which is how I got this stuffed seal

Let's talk about one of the most interesting questions in cancer biology: Why don't WHALES get MORE CANCER?

This question is also called "Peto's Paradox" for epidemiologist Sir Richard Peto, who demonstrated the link between smoking and lung cancer, 1951.

So why whales, in particular?

As an immigrant myself this resonates. UK citizens like to call themselves expats, as if it's different - delusional colonialism as always. The cognitive dissonance on this issue is staggering in the UK. Some think they can go anywhere, but wow betide anyone coming to the UK.
