Thank you, universe.

I really needed a power outage on the day I'm hosting Friendsgiving. I was definitely not getting up early to make several loaves of bread, or trays of Mac n cheese, or a giant ham.

I'll be rocking myself gently in the corner. The cold corner, because I have no heat.

This one's more recent, but I don't do movies a lot these days. I saw Avengers Endgame opening weekend, a thing I rarely did. Packed room, not an empty seat. So quiet you could hear a pin drop, the entire time. Cap picks up the hammer, and a solitary voice echos around the room, "What the fuck?!"
Raising the always fun question: What are your most memorable theater-going experiences?

Mine also include The Matrix, Blair Witch, and being way too stoned in Belgium when Fellowship of the Ring was sold out so we sat in the back row for Mulholland Drive instead.
It was hands-down one of the most memorable theater-going experiences I can remember, a collective 30-minute butt-clench/armrest-grab for the final climb. And we knew he lived! Wild.

I didn't get around to posting about what I was thankful for yesterday, so better late than never.

Last year the holiday season was... rough, to say the least. The loss of my remaining parent, and breaking up with a partner of five years really did a number on me.

No lawmaker in Congress should be able to buy, own, and sell individual stocks. Period. Let's make Congressional stock trading illegal.

A little bit late, but this morning I had my day in court, and I am happy to say my name change was approved.

Now to update everything I've ever done. 🫠

Science is absolutely wild. After over a decade of being told my lingering effects of Bell's Palsy couldn't be treated, I met with a surgeon who offered me *several* paths to restore facial movement.

Sure, it took me flying half way across the country, but I am so excited.

My brain is doing brain things today. Sharing some joy instead of dwelling.

August 23rd was the first day I ever went out explicitly dressed femme. I'd male-failed before then, but still a big milestone.

Today, I fly home from a work conference, and realized I haven't boymoded in weeks.

Today's National Coming Out Day and while the world is scary, I stand firm that being my true self was worth the risk.

I still present masc a fair amount of the time, but more and more I find it harder to keep up the charade. Once you've seen behind the curtain it's hard to go back.

35 years for me to figure it out. Another 2 before I could say it out loud.
Why do we expect trans folks to know that they were trans at the youngest possible ages--4 or 5 or even younger--when we know so many of us take so much longer to figure it out? It's time to talk about The Story, as Stained Glass Woman returns with a mega-sized, 5,000-word article!

CW: Pet Loss.

Said goodbye to this little man yesterday. It was quite sudden, but the vet handled his last moments so compassionately.

So... I went to the local Renaissance Faire last weekend with a partner. Nothing too out of the ordinary, I try to go every year at least once.

But I finally worked up the nerves to go *anywhere* in a more femme outfit. Sure, the Faire is a safe, queer space, but baby steps, right?

Something to remember if you find yourself spiraling, as a trans person:

Until 1994, trans women were defined as a type of gay man, trans men were largely ignored, and nonbinary people were not considered to exist.

Its easy to forget how far we've come, and how recently.

We've got this.

Hey, this is a REALLY BIG DEAL. Just as importantly, it's a fabulous benchmark that really shows what an utter revolution mRNA vaccines are.

Mark my words: someone is gonna get a Nobel for mRNA research, and it won't even be a close contest when the time comes.
