I know, I know....I hate to derail your holiday shopping, but you may want to think twice before you buy the 370 square miles of wrapping paper.

No lie though I’m probably going to take a few woodworking classes after the busy season at my day job wraps up so I can make flyers with ultra slow whorls for ergonomic low twist worsted spinning
It's only a matter of time before we all take up woodworking to make our own wheels and looms. Then we'll become blacksmiths to forge our own woodworking tools. All in the name of fiber. 😂

Today I learned that some companies sell 2.75mm #2 needles and some companies sell 3mm #2 needles. First off, you’d think that with as long as I’ve been knitting I’d have noticed that by now. Second, wish I’d realized that 40ish rounds ago instead of after I finished the yoke on this sweater.

In today’s episode of the ongoing saga of the Brother KH881 knitting machine that refuses to be brought back into service, I’m mysteriously missing both handle screws for the main carriage and instead have two screws that don’t seem to go anywhere.

Apparently today is the day that my spouse decided that ignoring the results of an allergy test from last year isn’t actually a good idea

I don’t love this as a textile, but the singular goal of this project was to confirm that the second set of repairs I made to my piece of shit table loom actually did the job, and it did manage to accomplish that.

How many times today am I going to misspell the word “occurrence” while I’m configuring a half dozen new accounts?

It’s a tragedy that the only coffee stands along my commute are the one that’s kind of terrible, the one that’s aggressively heteronormative, and the one that’s known for bad labor practices

What they want is for trans people to NOT EXIST. They start small and take inch by inch of what is given but the ultimate goal is as Michael Knowles said: "'transgenderism' must be eradicated completely." Do not give them an inch. Don't fall for their fake concern about protecting women & children.

But the main pushback I have here is this reality: the argument that trans men like myself exist as a gotcha against transphobia and particularly transmysogyny doesn't actually work. These transphobic bigots DO NOT ACTUALLY want trans women in men's rooms and trans men in women's rooms.

I’m glad I don’t struggle with social anxiety as badly as I did when I was younger, but I really don’t like being reminded that it’s not cured, just in remission

I see a lot of anti architecture takes from real estate people and I’m sorry the exterior is how 90% of people interact with your building plus it leaves a lasting impact on the urban fabric as it changes over time. It’s actually very important!

Are there any other mills in the U.S. currently producing 20/2 wool yarn? I wasn’t thinking ahead when Jagger Spun announced their closure, and I think I might be stuck handspinning the yarn I need for a project I’m thinking of getting on the loom.
