I don’t love this as a textile, but the singular goal of this project was to confirm that the second set of repairs I made to my piece of shit table loom actually did the job, and it did manage to accomplish that.

A small handwoven sampler sitting on a wooden workbench. The warp is two thick stripes of grey wool separated by a thick stripe of blue wool. The weft is black. The pattern is a base three advancing point twill, which looks like concentric diamonds that alternate by warp color and weft color. The sampler is folded slightly so that it makes a 90 degree angle, with the long part pointing towards 12 o’clock and the short part pointing towards 3 o’clock. The fringe is untwisted and very fuzzy. There’s a noticeable selvedge on each long side of the textile. There is also a small header at each end woven in plain weave, which was hem stitched.

Incidentally, this is why you see so many young riders using safety stirrups. Can’t get hung up if part of the stirrup is designed to essentially break away.

I pass this guide around a lot. Ignore the “graphic design is my passion” aesthetic because the information is spot on.
Pepper spray buying guide. Purchase something that’s pure OC spray, 1.3% to 1.4% capsaicinoid, with a flip top. Pom or Sabre both have products that meet those descriptions. Seal the seams with packing tape. Carry it on your body, not in a purse or bag. Stick with stream, fog, or cone sprays. Replace if damaged or expired. Make sure the nozzle stays clean of dust. Use your thumb to spray it, not your index finger. Bear spray, wasp spray, hairspray, and other things marketed as less than lethal “self defense” are basically all gimmicks. Just stick with Pom Industries or Sabre Red pepper spray.

Pretty happy with how this is scouring. Not thrilled with the amount of babysitting the dual pot setup needs, but that’s a small space issue. Also not sure I’m preserving the lock structure as well as I was hoping, but that’s a perennial issue of mine 🧶

A disgusting, decomposing, stinky sponge bar glued to a piece of sheet metal. I’m holding in vertically in my shower because it’s getting disgusting sponge crumbles everywhere
