THIS NEW HUBBLE IMAGE LOOKS LIKE A GALACTIC PORTAL!!! 🌌
A galaxy seen face-on, with a slightly elliptical disk that appears to have a hole in the center like a doughnut. In the hole, the core is a brightly glowing point that shines light out beyond the edge of the disk. Around the hole is an inner ring of dust, and at the galaxy’s edge is a thicker outer ring of dust, with a swirling web of dust strands in between. Blue stars and red nebulae are visible behind the dust.

Another pair of interacting galaxies so far into the dance it's impossible to discern which is which at this point. Of note for the processing on this one is that the bottom third as well as a small portion of the upper left corner is monochrome. It blends well enough that it's not obtrusive, though. I decided it was better to get a more complete feel for the structure of the galaxy than to have perfectly accurate colors in this case. I'm a little disturbed by the way the diffraction spikes aren't square with the edges but it was either have them like this or have a lot of blank spots. Red: hst_05396_01_wfpc2_f814w_wf_sci + hst_09042_n3_wfpc2_f606w_wf_sci Green: Pseudo Blue: hst_05396_01_wfpc2_f450w_wf_sci + hst_09042_n3_wfpc2_f606w_wf_sci North is NOT up. It is 60.1° counter-clockwise from up.

Bach's violin concerto in E major definitely is a masterpiece on its own. But the performance by Anne-Sophie-Mutter and Herbert von Karajan from 1984 takes this piece to a whole other level.

Most distant object known to humanity.
Found by JWST, JADES-GS-z14-0 is the most distant galaxy ever discovered. It's located 13.6 billion light years from us, and since it takes time for light to travel, we see it as it was only 290 million years after the Big Bang.
