Fly to a star-forming region!

Our journey starts in visible light before we switch to an infrared view. Dust blocks visible light, yet in the infrared, we can peer deep into the cosmic clouds of L1688 and study newborn stars.

1963 - Day Two

A beautiful sunny day for Labor Day here in Denver, not exactly a heatwave, but close enough.

Hubble Views Cosmic Dust Lanes

Featured in this new image is a nearly edge-on view of the lenticular galaxy NGC 4753. This image is the object's sharpest view to date, showcasing Hubble’s incredible resolving power and ability to reveal complex dust structures.

Bach's violin concerto in E major definitely is a masterpiece on its own. But the performance by Anne-Sophie-Mutter and Herbert von Karajan from 1984 takes this piece to a whole other level.

#A-Haydn-A-Day Day 52: Symphony No. 86

Haitink conducts Haydn and Woohoo! It's my favourite Paris symphony and one of my favourite Haydn symphonies of all. The gorgeous Capriccio travels to harmonic strange new worlds, while the repeated-note finale has been my welcome earworm for years! 😍😍😍

#A-Haydn-A-Day and #74. Isn't this a fun symphony (I'll be saying this a lot over the next 100 or so days :D)! Today's viewing is a video with a score of it so you can follow along. Pretty well played by Cologne forces under Müller-Brühl.

Most distant object known to humanity.
Found by JWST, JADES-GS-z14-0 is the most distant galaxy ever discovered. It's located 13.6 billion light years from us, and since it takes time for light to travel, we see it as it was only 290 million years after the Big Bang.
