Dee Dee Dee! Black-capped Chickadees stay with us all year round, and don’t seem to care about the cold at all. This little one was busy foraging in the frosty trees!

Carved by ancient glaciers, and today by the Kings River, Kings Canyon is one of North America's deepest canyons - deeper in spots than the Grand Canyon! The 50 mile drive winding through the canyon is demanding, but nearly every turn reveals a postcard-worthy view. #Photography #ArtAdventCalendar

Thursday birdsday!
AW staff found this malleefowl mound in our region recently. The pile of leaf litter in the centre is a sign that the mound is being prepared by the birds for eggs. The vegetation breaks down to create warmth for incubation, much like a compost heap.

New species of weasel discovered in the Hengduan Mountains of Sichuan Province, China.
A new weasel species just found in China. Every time I mention “dark extinctions,” people demand proof. But how do you prove the loss of a species we never knew existed?

There are more undiscovered species than known ones.
