Racism is already rampant in this sport and has been in the NWSL since its inception, so there’s no way in hell that racism is not going to come into play with these HIP designations. I just fear the ramifications of this new policy. All they had to do was raise the damn salary cap.

love how the league and board of governors are acting like they had no idea rodman’s contract ended this offseason, all this really could’ve been resolved months ago yet now they’re scrambling to find some random half-assed solution instead of using the time to figure out how to raise the cap

nwsl owners do not want to have the best league in the world, they want widespread mediocrity that they can position as 'parity' and 'the most competitive league.' it's literally the nfl model attempted in a sport with a global market that can and will leave the nwsl behind.

The problem with ICE is not that it's targeting people who aren't criminals. The problem with ICE is that it's an unaccountable secret deportation police. It cannot be reformed under a better president. It can be made less terrible, but the instrument of repression remains for the next tyrant.

I think it is very fair to ask, and expect, the league and its teams not to fly with these carriers. You have sth who could not go to games this season because of the fear of deportation. Show an ounce of solidarity, I beg.
