JD Vance claims that diversity weakens unions, as people end up distrusting each other and not organizing.

Let me tell you two menswear stories related to this claim. 🧵

You should be ashamed as editor in chief that this tripe was published. Not only is it flawed and misleading (at best!), it is dangerous and minimizes the extreme threat to our democracy and its citizens that is obviously and overwhelmingly perpetrated by the right.

When Vought was in front of the Appropriations Committee earlier this week, I didn’t see or read of anyone (even the Dems) asking him why he was so confident in “DOGE” as an agency and an entity when it has fucked up everything it has touched.

Across the government, the Trump administration is scrambling to rehire many federal employees dismissed under DOGE’s staff-slashing initiatives after wiping out entire offices, in some cases imperiling key services such as weather forecasting and the drug approval process.

Why did you vote to confirm this person? Please do not cast any vote that enables this administration again.

i think shutting the government down is preferably to nullifying article i of the constitution
The weeks of performative “resistance” from those in my party were limited to undignified antics.

Voting to shut the government down will punish millions or risk a recession.

I disagree with many points in the CR, but I will never vote to shut our government down.

And 10 years after the McKinley tariff…
Newt Gingrich says the "McKinley Model" requires high tariffs over a three-year transition period.

Notable: Three years after the 1890 McKinley tariff, the economy had fallen into a severe depression. The GDP shrank by 10% and unemployment hit 18%. Certainly not the economic model I'd be copying. 😳

When is anyone going to stop this vandalism? Are we going to lose every single public good in this country?
Hearing that the Coast Guard is being told to deprioritize and de-emphasize the Search and Rescue mission.

That’s right, you know, one of the main missions of the service since the very beginning?

There are more than 3,500 lives saved per year by the CG.

Anyone saying the Democrats got their wallets inspected on the vote is, frankly, being either stupid or a wrecker, or both. The GOP flipped their own people. The Dems got their own reps back into the chamber, at least one limping out of a hospital bed, another with her newborn, and they were united.

Thank you for a sad but beautiful remembrance of a wonderful and influential girl, and the impact she had on some truly good people.

DOGE has 50 employees and expects 100 next week. Operating out of SpaceX offices and have "begun agency reviews"

If I'm a federal manager and a non-govt / non-transition / non-FACA group calls, what authority do they have to tell me to talk to them?
