Need to post osome of my Frasera caroliniensis photos on here.
Frasera is a genus of 15 spp in N. America. In 2024, a 19-year-old plant of F. caroliniensis growing in the NC Bot. Garden bloomed for the first & last time. This species is monocarpic (it flowers & dies). The peculiar greenish flowers have nectaries on the petals. #Gentianaceae #Botany 🌾🧪🌱

First entry for #lexember, from my still to be named conlang.

gigä - (v.) To simmer. Believed to be onomatopoeic, evoking the sounds of food as it simmers over a wood stove.

Yulu amama yotuba sa lüsibä sa ñopocholiba geväqü gigälish.

My grandmother simmered stew with goat, beans and squash.

DYK, that it is possible to recover the remains of ink from fossil Belemnites?

DYK, that Mary Anning discovered this?

Carnivorous plants, like this *very* pink Pink Sundew (Drosera capillaris), thrive where few other plants can survive — acidic, sandy, and nutrient-deficient bogs and grasslands.
