For folks wondering about the thought process behind this, it's downstream of "the gender binary is Western and colonial", "non-Western societies were precolonial gender-expansive playgrounds", and "transsexuality is a Western phenomenon, it's imperialist to say third-worlders are trans" and such.

For some reason, every time we argue here about the relation of transition to trans identity, people forget that "transition is regressive and binary" is a legitimately held position by a lot of queers.

Ya know, societal transphobia aside, I actually like being trans. Sure it’s a pain in the ass having to rebuild my body, and it sucks I missed out on a lot pre-transition—but god I love myself, and a lot of what I love came out of my transness.

Tbh the tremendously miniscule "harm" presented as reason to restrict access to transition or even ban it entirely is really ridiculous in a society where you can simply decide to take up smoking, go to a store, and ruin your lungs without a single consultation with anyone.
