actually as i was writing this thread, i remembered that i love moths! and as i consider it more, i think it is the imagery of metamorphosis that i hold close to

i am the same being—then in one form, now in another. but neither form was *wrong* for this being; this is just it's natural progression

also in the realm of rebirth, i've considered the phoenix, but it's never really felt like something i identify with

another avenue of imagery is one of rebirth. i was still some form of christian at the time my coming-out moment, and that moment was an encounter with what i understood to be Jesus calling to mind his conversation with Nicodemus to say that it's not the first birth that matters

speaking candidly, it's probably a small bit of an over-generalisation, as people are complex and can hold many different ideas at once

but as a rule-of-thumb, it tends to hold true imo

admittedly it's a bit snarky, so take with a serving of salt

a moderate/centrist is someone who, when push comes to shove, will side with the right 9.99999 times out of 10
