Amen to this and that you Pope Leo for speaking out.
In a world where Trump punches down, be like Pope Leo and lift people up.

Peggy Noonan is a great columnist. Generally leans toward the right, but maybe right-center.
This column really makes one think.

Apparently Trump is now calling for the release of the Epstein files, which of course means that they have finished deleting all the evidence that he was complicit.

Of course, Trump is covering up. But even something from the 1980's??

Trump canceled a meeting with Democratic leaders and refuses to negotiate in good faith. HE wants a shutdown. Remember: Trump himself said the president is accountable for a shutdown. The blame is his.

There are the 'donor states' who give more in tax dollars than they get back from the feds, and the 'taker states' who get more than they send.
They somewhat correspond to the red/blue show on this map.

Georgia where I live is shown as blue; yes we have 2 Dem Senators now but still "redish" overall

Never in the history of the US has any president openly and repeatedly called for the investigation, arrest & prosecution of his political opponents. While many continue to shrug these things off and normalize them, I will never stop pointing out that this is what autocrats do.

Yup, just like Trump.
Suck up to autocrats and promise to "MAGA" and "America First" but really it is "if you aren't an oligarch, I don't care about you" (especially since he suckered enough people to win a second term.
