Neither Trump, nor half of his cabinet have “ancestors” who were in North America before the revolution. I’d guess that less than half of current US citizens do. “Your ancestors” is doing a lot of implicitly white Christian nationalist work here.

Co-opting the language of #MeToo to suggest we should indulge conspiracy theories or false beliefs imparted to families by people like RFK Jr, who has himself been accused of being a sexual predator, is nasty work.
On a side note, as a feminist who studies sexual harassment, I was deeply offended at RFK Jr co-opting the language of #MeToo to suggest the "medical establishment" has been gaslighting women who are concerned their children have autism because of vaccines. He said we should "believe women." This is vile, especially coming from a man who is himself accused of being a sexual predator. Of course we should believe our patients, but when they have been misled, it is also our job to help them understand the truth, not indulge conspiracy theories and false ideas pushed by grifters.
