Went to my local library this morning to do a bit of research for my current book project and my goodness such a life-affirming space! There was an adult being taught to read on the next table, children enjoying story time, countless people taking out books. So grateful for our libraries ❤️

I think it makes sense bc a loooooot of it is just a very strong patriarchy kink mixed with a dash of anti-intellectualism especially when they’re criticised for that (which sucks bc I think there’s so much space for interesting storytelling and those become harder to find amidst the slop)
