Helpful insight for colleagues in the Academy asked about the violent crackdown on student protests at major US universities.
The pathologies of the neoliberal university are coming to a head: deeply disempowering & coercive institutional practices (policing, surveillance, attacks on faculty governance, labor contingency) paired with empty discourses of care ("we love our students!" "we're a community!").
