VERTIGO is up next, and I do think there's a trans argument within the film, but I primarily chose it as a gesture of love to Candy, because Kim Novak was her North Star. She idolized her, and I idolized Candy. It's my way of thanking her to put those two alongside one another on TCM tonight.

So if you're watching my program, keep an eye on how these two films are aesthetically similar & how both are ensemble pieces that bend around a trans character once she arrives. I thought these films would play well alongside one another, because they both reverberate around the trans element.

My personal favorites are Country Grammar Shake Ya Tailfeather and Ride Wit Me but when I hear the opening bars of Hot in Herre it activates a tiny part of my brain that instantly transports me to off campus basement parties circa 2003 and that’s real power

I do love the Cathedral of Learning, because I generally love over-the-top nonsense. Looking at it this evening, this dialog from "Ghostbusters" came to mind.

For Martin Scorsese's b'day, I donated to his Film Foundation, which has restored 1100+ films.

You can even pick a project to support.

Scorsese said restoration is "more important" to his legacy than filmmaking, especially in its potential to inspire young people.

Miss me with this instant forgiveness of Marjorie Taylor Greene. She’s no hero. She’s Christoph Waltz at the end of Inglorious Basterds.

Having TCM goes so hard. You can just throw it on and its either one of your favorite movies or a c-list comedy from the 40s that comfortably fades into the background of your day. The greatest TV channel ever.
