Enjoyed More or Less this a.m. scrutinising church attendance trends in the light of the recent Bible Society report

@stephenkb.bsky.social was sceptical at the time!

Especially David Voas' expert input. I had early sight of his recent Conversation piece: theconversation.com/is-there-rea...
Is there really a religious revival in England? Why I’m sceptical of a new report
In Anglican and Catholic churches, average weekly attendance is down about 20% from pre-pandemic levels.

Heartbroken by the horrific murder of Israeli Embassy staffers Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim in DC. A young couple, full of promise, targeted and killed outside a Jewish museum. This act of terrorism and vile antisemitism must be condemned without hesitation. We mourn - we demand justice.

Do you know how many Haggadah supplements have been produced by the American Jewish community about defending the rights of immigrants and refugees over the last 30 years? "Do not oppress the stranger among you" is our whole deal.
You know who else we’re thinking about? People who have had their visas suddenly revoked, or who have been surreptitiously marched into a Salvadoran prison, without a shred of due process.
