Daily reminder that @schumer.senate.gov should resign, and, barring resignation, he should step down from his leadership position and allow someone who is up to the challenge of fighting for democracy, and not just the next election, to step in.

What is to be done, I ask you, with all of these shitty Democrats www.sfgate.com/politics/art...
Hey Democrats, wake the f—k up
The Democrats have neither the ability nor the will to fight back against President Donald Trump, SFGATE columnist Drew Magary writes.

I think some in the Senate have convinced themselves that the backlash to folding will be limited to “the left” and therefore ignorable.

Those people are deeply and profoundly misreading the moment and the stakes.

Virtually every swing district House Dem walked the plank to vote NO for a reason.

I was on Senate Floor in October 1991 when Congresswomen marched over to protest the handling of the Thomas nomination. In the next cycle, incumbents lost primaries and women Senators were elected. I encourage House Democrats to make a similar protest tomorrow. @aoc.bsky.social @raskin.house.gov

Not only is this a bad statement, but it's repeating what others have already said. By definition, Schumer is a follower, not a leader. He should resign.
Chuck Schumer finally released a statement on Mahmoud Khalil, beginning with a condemnation not of his arrest, but of him

I’m most galled by the up-is-down chutzpah. In Jeffries’s world, swaddling chickenshit frontliners by making the party captive to Trump’s abuse is a power move, while taking unprecedented steps to express contempt is getting “run off the block” like cowards. That’s piss on your leg, not rain.
Jeffries sends a letter to Democrats saying "The decision to attend the Joint Session is a personal one and we understand that members will come to different conclusions. However, it is important to have a strong, determined and dignified Democratic presence in the chamber."

I cannot repeat this often enough: Linda McMahon literally covered up the sexual abuse of children while she was running WWF (now WWE). She knew Mel Phillips abused boys, and protected him. She repeatedly rehired Pat Patterson and Terry Garvin, despite patterns of harassment and abuse.
Politico is reporting they may ban schools receiving federal funding from allowing kids to be trans as soon as today. Also opens door to investigations into schools that disregard the directive

The order will also reinstate the 1776 Commission that Trump created during his first term in office to promote patriotic education.

Ever wonder what snow in the swamp would look like? This is 5 miles into the Louisiana swamps in the Atchafalaya basin... it's unreal... having lived down there for the first 28 years of my life, we never saw anything like this.

Smashed records.

Being a person with deadly, incurable cancer who is nonetheless still alive for an indefinite timeframe gives me an interesting metaphor that helps me deal with things like large-scale corruption in government or commerce.

Bear with me for a second while I try to explain.
