it's crazy that this dude spent his entire childhood inside a Barnes and Noble
"The Barnes and Noble in York—where Fetterman was born and raised—had sold zero copies. The Barnes and Noble in Philadelphia had sold two copies. An independent store in Pittsburgh and an independent store in Philadelphia each told me they weren’t stocking Unfettered" defector.com/john-fetterm...

It seems like no one I know is playing Ghost of Yotei. I have a lot of thoughts on it, especially in relation to Assassin's Creed Shadows. but at this current moment, I'm fighting Takezo the Unrivaled, who is based on Miyamoto Musashi.

ICE secretly kidnap autistic boy during bathroom break—never notify parents.

Mother reported him missing a week ago—turns out ICE had him detained the whole time.

He was helping sell fruit and asked to go to the restroom—by the time she was done helping a customer he was gone.

I have issues with Silent Hill f, but by and large it's an EXCELLENT game. It feels authentically Silent Hill while doing its own thing. Hinako is an interesting protagonist, and the game tries to tangle with thoughts about gender and relationships through the lens of 1960s Japanese culture.

Genuine question: for those enthusiastically pushing AI tools into every part of our education system—what checks/guardrails are there around algorithmic biases like this?
The administration “is currently pressuring OpenAI and other AI companies to make their models more conservative-friendly.”
OpenAI is trying to clamp down on ‘bias’ in ChatGPT
GPT-5 is better at resisting liberal ‘pressure,’ the company says.

and yet he'll keep right on going out of pure hatred and spite (and access to literally the best healthcare)
Per my mother, a retired nurse, who never otherwise opines on these things: she says with complete confidence Trump is in congestive heart failure, his circulation sucks, his kidneys are shitting the bed processing the backlog of fluid retention, he's on IV therapy everyday, it is incurable
Is Donald Trump’s physical health ok

Like is he going to keel over and die of a heart attack?

what is going on he looks awful

SCOOP from me: Trump's AI action plan released last week makes a specific set of recommendations around loosening Clean Water Act permits for data centers — recommendations mirrored in letters sent to the administration by Big Tech lobbyists earlier this year:
Big Tech Asked for Looser Clean Water Act Permitting. Trump Wants to Give It to Them
New AI regulations suggested by the White House mirror changes to environmental permitting suggested by Meta and a lobbying group representing firms like Google and Amazon Web Services.

I'm trying to finally finish House of Leaves. I stopped reading it because the narrator sucks real hard. The fiction about the house itself and the Navidson family is super compelling, but Johnny is just the far end opposite. And in between that, 200 pages of footnotes.

The fact that itchio is looking into alternate payment options and talking about all this like an ongoing situation instead of being like "these are the new rules and always will be, fuck off" says a lot about how much they care about this. I know you want to yell at them but they're working hard

Wanted to revisit this briefly and reemphasize this point - I agree in principle with the idea that you shouldn't sell your work for cut-rate, unsustainable pay, but that mostly assumes that alternatives exist
Individual writers aren't the problem, they should be working with editors who are equipped to give them useful feedback and guidance on how to build a compelling and legally sound story. That layer of the business is effectively extinct

Guess what happened.
