Old enough to know better. She/her.
Canadians gonna Canadian.
This is the Canadian Premier League soccer finals and we have a bicycle kick goal in the middle of a blizzard … and that’s the most Canadian thing I’ve ever seen 😂

Any recommendations for a good e-reader? I'm guessing either Kindle or Kodo? I don't buy a lot of books, I mostly borrow from libraries, if that makes a difference. What have you got, and what do you love/hate about it?

At the end of the day, don’t we all just want to read books in a seaside cottage during a thunderstorm whilst enjoying a plate of emotional support scones?

I wonder if anyone has pointed out to the tangerine fascist south of the border that in the three Triple Crown races in the past month, the horse that won the Derby and the Belmont was Sovereignty, and the horse that won the Preakness was Journalism.

Sovereignty and journalism win every time. 😁

Canadians, remember this when you head to the polls.
With the Liberal leadership convention tomorrow, where they pick the new leader (who will be the new Prime Minister until an election), Justin Trudeau posts this video about how Poilievre is the only party leader who refused to get his security clearance.

Damn. 🤌

Assuming all fanfiction is written poorly really just shows you've never been caught in the chokehold of a 150k slowburn that changed the course of your life at 2:40am written by someone whose username has 4 Zs in it and they only wrote one fic and then vanished like an ethereal legend.

All I want is a cottage in the Scottish Highlands, a freshly-fallen snow, a crackling fire, a riveting mystery novel, a kettle on the stove, and a healthy supply of emotional support scones.

Friends who send Christmas cards - it makes me sad to say, but best not to send me one this year. Canada Post is still on strike, and it's not looking like ending anytime soon. Needless to say, unless it does, I won't be sending any this year either. ☹️

Omg this is what I have been waiting for all my life
Everyone should get a library card if you don't already have one! It's more important than ever to support public libraries. This is an extension that tells you if the book you are looking up on Amazon or Goodreads is in your library (and if it is available).
Library Extension (for web browsers)
Library Extension lets you instantly see book and eBook availability from your local library

I see that you can turn of reposts for your entire 'following' feed, but does anyone know if you can turn them off for individual accounts like you could at the old place? I don't want to turn them off for everyone, just the accounts I have to scroll past foreverrrrrrr.

I made a thing!

I was playing around with the AT protocol and as a little experiment I made a website that visualises activity around Bluesky: nightsky.hctr.dev

It listens to all new posts and shows them as little stars across a night sky 🌃

Every star is someone, somewhere, posting something
Nightsky | hctr.dev
See live conversations from all over Bluesky as a dynamic night sky

Flipped to an ep of Due South only to see a very young, very shirtless, very buff Mark Ruffalo cuddling a baby. I did NOT remember that episode. My wizened ovaries twitched. 😂

Hi if you're new to bsky lemme introduce you to lists, 'cause subscribing to just a handful of mute lists has made my bsky experience very smooth, and I 13/10 recommend it.
