I've met several refugees from Sudan. Zaghawa, Berti, Fur, Masalit - All fleeing systematic murder for essentially not being Arab. All Muslim, most even speak Arabic as a first language. A military coalition isn't even needed to stop this, just the international will to pressure certain states.
“We're seeing a level of proliferation of bodies & body piles from space that's unlike anything I've ever seen…”

Human rights investigator Nathaniel Raymond explains how more people could be killed within a week in Sudan, compared to the past two years in Gaza.

So much of the BBC's current problems seem to me because of how much it is obsessed with how people see it. No matter what it does, rightwingers will think it's left wing and leftwingers will think it's right wing. Impartiality is important but is it worth sacrificing principles or accuracy?

"To say 'Zelenskyy is no friend of the working class' is an insulting, facile distraction from the fact that Sultana refuses to support the Ukrainian people’s fight for existence."

Proper cold fury and moral clarity from @paulmason.bsky.social on Sultana.

Also 30, but I received my first ever flu jab today. If I was a viking, this is where I'd dive off a cliff so as not to burden my clan. Fortunately in the modern age, I'll settle for a sticker and a biscuit.
i turned 30 years old today. it’s an odd age to get to but my life has never been better and more fulfilled so i’m looking forward to my 30’s. thank you to everyone who has supported me online. i’m also thankful for those of you who have become dear friends of mine over the years. love you all

A trick Mamdani has mastered is seeming positive even when attacking Cuomo by having it come out of nowhere. You’ll watch him being asked his favorite Halloween candy and he’ll say “I love skittles haha, guilty as charged, of course not guilty of killing people in nursing homes, M&Ms are also great”

Always worth remembering that the most anti-Russia countries know what it's like to be ruled by them.

Populism is always fluid between both sides of the spectrum. Farage has been pushing the 'People's Army' routine for years now.
Power to the people!

Nigel Farage appears to be backing a lot of left wing policies this week.

My Bluesky feed unfortunately isn't nearly as diverse and developed to draw me in every day. Think this site could do with a bit more in the way of differing views. Otherwise it's just the left-wingers arguing with centrists about right-wingers

Also true in the UK.

Where people imagine there to be big savings they approve of (overseas aid, MPs salaries, benefits fraud) there are not.
The average American voter thinks that the government is too big but that it should spend more money on everything it does. This explains a decent share of the political chaos of this country.
Incredible chart

Make minerals deal with Europe. Give frozen Russian assets to Ukraine. Serious genuine sanctions. European military personnel providing on-ground support.

Russia has poisoned and killed people on our shores. They've meddle in every aspect of our intelligence and electoral processes.

Gloves off.
🚨The Trump administration is considering ending all ongoing shipments of military aid to Ukraine in response to Zelensky’s remarks in the Oval Office on Friday and his perceived intransigence in the peace process, per senior administration official

Honestly after today, I'm this close to supporting actual boots on the ground in Ukraine. But first, give frozen Russian assets to Ukraine this actual second.

Put aside the nastiness of this post, & the way in he attacks Zelenskyy as a dictator but says not a word about his pal Putin, & just focus on the way it is written: would you hire this weird person to work for you? Would you trust this odd person to teach your kid in school?

Just shows these people never cared about cancel culture. They just wanted to be the ones cancelling.
Musk has sicced his followers on the WSJ writer who reported on a DOGE staffer’s racist online, history demanding her firing. This is a tactic Silicon Valley’s neoreactionaries have been advocating for years: Pick a reporter, dox and harrass, make an example of them, make everyone else afraid.
