De Santis can't help being the worst, even when leaving the race. I can't tell if he is so corrupt he thinks Trump would be the best president to achieve fascism/ white supremacy or if he is too cowardly to endorse anyone else.

There is incredible good and deep work being done around the country. Don't write us off, join us. It isn't perfect, but it is real and important. Once you find that thread and pull a bit? It is astounding and beautiful what we've built.

It shouldn’t be lost on anyone that all of these people in the article screaming about academic freedom are really looking for a safe space — a concept they claim to despise — for them and their ugly, discredited ideas. Academic freedom is the opposite of what they’re after.
New investigative piece in the NY Times provides very detailed evidence of the well-organized effort on the right to control discourse on campus.
They preach academic freedom seeking to purge ideas it dislikes. (Gift link) www.nytimes.com/interactive/...

The Houthis have been engaged in a civil war in Yemen since 2014, and have been allied with Hamas and Hezbollah and part of their slogan is “death to America Death to Israel a curse upon the Jews.” Their military operations in general and in the Red Sea specifically, aren’t new starting October 7.

Found it. How to turn off AI search
On your computer, open Chrome .
Make sure you’re signed in to your Google Account with Incognito mode turned off.
At the top of the browser, click New tab .
At the top right of the page, click Labs icon .
On the experiment’s card, turn it off .
It's cool how AI has straight up ruined google and they haven't even tapped the brakes on it

Elon Musk's scheme to gut worker protections nationally
For a guy who claims to want to save humanity, he's got some strange ideas.

The 2024 election is unusual: it offers us a choice between two recent presidents. We know exactly how each of them will govern, because we've already seen them do it. So let's compare. There are 209 weeks in a presidential term. There are currently 329 days until the 2024 election. Let’s do this.

Yup. The Pelosi Gap is the difference between post-pandemic economic recovery in the US vs. other rich nations.

(Disappointed that I can't get this one to catch on, although lots of reasons why - presidentialism, partisanship tilt against it. @pkrugman.bsky.social should adopt it, though).
