If, like me, you often find yourself shocked by the moral failings of others, ruminating for hours upon hours about their irresponsible and vicious conduct, I suggest trying out what @pierricksimon.bsky.social calls the "trustful approach."

A philosophical exercise every month! While experimenting with the old-school exercise of memorizing philosophical handbooks, I chanced upon an intriguing thesis: the Sermon on the Mount counts as a phil-handbook to learn from & train with #philsky philosophicalexercises.blogspot.com/2025/11/the-...
The Sermon on the Mount, learning by heart and trusting the future

This particular passage from Paradise Lost is one of those things that has stuck with me and affects how I see the world constantly. It really feels like it rewired my brain, to use the cliché.
there's a moment in PARADISE LOST where Satan arrives in Eden and realizes Hell isn't a place; it's a thing he carries within him and it'll follow him wherever he goes. and i think about that when i see these awful rich men whose monstrous wealth has enriched them not at all

Victor Hugo's bed, where the magic happens. Bigger than I remembered. I shouldn't have thrown shade. And also his huge initials on the chimney. Very classy.

For this month's philosophical experiment, I am going to get into tarot card reading. If you have good articles (or any other resources) about the philosophy of tarot reading or other divination practices , can you please share it with me? I'd love it, because this is a new one for me. :) #philsky

When people perceive the Potential of a technology, they literally perceive it. They watch videos like this and they just mentally subtract all the jarring elements. They think this act of subtraction makes them visionary, and others just don't get it. They don't question their own assumptions.
Oh my god some fucking tech dingdong posted this on Twitter with the caption "AI games are going to be amazing" totally seriously, you have to watch it. You have to. In full screen.

This was great! Ageing is one of those topics where thinking about it even just a little bit and sharing experiences with others goes a long way to making us way more lucid about it. The default usually is to never think about it unless forced! This book club feels safe & sparks interesting convos.

Last night, I practiced the "View from Above" philosophical exercise. I felt overwhelmed by the strangeness & immensity of space. This morning I did a couple of drawings to try to capture the visions I had. Reminiscent of a near death experience Plutarch attributes to a certain Thespesius of Soloi:
