The thing is, as much as they want to immortalize Charlie Kirk to justify and escalate their platform of hate, they’ll forget about him in a month and move onto something else.

Hate is a fire.

It has no memory.

It doesn’t need a reason.

It just needs to burn.

Given the opportunity, TFG will always make things worse. Always.
Donald Trump has a history of making national tragedies worse. So here's a quick side by side of how one president responds to a national crisis versus how another does.

a weird yell took down Howard Dean, but a depraved book from one of the worst sex traffickers of teens that contains a disgusting handwritten note from the current president, who is also an adjudicated rapist, causes the GOP to unite to protect him

the parties are not the same

The United States was founded on a godless Constitution that derives power from the people, not a deity, where everyone is free to follow any religion—or none at all.

Christian nationalists like Beckwith want to rewrite history and impose their beliefs on everyone else.

Sure. Gas and grocery prices are unpredictable and continue to rise, there’s school shootings, masked government goons conduct daily warrantless renditions, and military troops are deployed on the streets of our capital for no reason. Still, only one of these changes got conservatives up in arms.

It isn’t normal for a president to repeatedly threaten the use of military force against American citizens. Treating the National Guard as a political pawn disrespects those who serve and undermines public trust in our military.

It’s about priorities.

Shameful. Disgraceful.
Trump forcing US SOLDIERS ON THEIR KNEES to roll the RED CARPET for his best friend Vlad, a RUSSIAN WAR CRIMINAL, tells you everything you need to know.

So Putin gets a red carpet welcome, a ride in the presidential limo, speaks first at the presser, frames the meeting as a successful talk among equals, while making absolutely no concession on the conduct or outcome of the war.

The upward redistribution of wealth over the past 50 years has shifted $80 trillion from the bottom 90% of Americans to the top 1%.

That’s $80 trillion that would have gone into the paychecks of the working class.

The greatest trick of all is trickle-down economics.

If anyone didn’t think it could get worse than Helsinki, the world was treated to the spectacle of the President of the United States applauding Vladimir Putin (an indicted war criminal who attacked a sovereign nation) as he walked down a red carpet on American soil. Disgusting, disgraceful. Period

Disgraceful. Fucking disgraceful.
US army rolling the red carpet to murderer’s plane. I will never forget this image.

It is insane to me that the government can find money to pay ICE agents increasingly larger sums of money, yet teachers have to buy their own pencils.

Federal building and employees attacked by far-right, gun-wielding conspiracy theorist. Not a word from the President. Not a peep.

I know there a bigger, more democracy-threatening issues out there right now. Almost too many to count. But, it can’t go without saying that the tacky gold adornments in the Oval, the recent paving over of the Rose Garden, and this shadily- funded abomination of a ballroom addition are horrifying.

Since, according to Stephen Miller, DC is more dangerous than Baghdad, shouldn’t all the federal workers they forced to come back into the office be entitled to some kind of danger pay?

This. Moves like this that are based on lies are not legitimate. They are not backed by data or reality. That are bald-faced power grabs.
Trump and Republicans are lying about crime to justify more authoritarian power grabs, like whatever is about to be announced for Washington DC this morning. But nationwide police stats show that crime is down significantly. More at @atrupar.com's Public Notice:

Crime is down. But Trump's authoritarian power grabs are escalating.
Random street crimes are being used as pretexts for repression.

Two things can be true:

1) The President has legal authority over the D.C. police and the D.C. National Guard that he doesn't have *anywhere else* in the country; &

2) Even if this doesn't set a legal precedent, it sets an ominous *political* precedent for pretextually overriding local government.

In a way, the Rose Garden is the perfect metaphor for Trump’s presidency: take something living, intricate, and beloved, strip it down to bare stone, and call it an upgrade.

The message is clear: history can be paved over.

Americans are relearning the lesson we learned during the Gilded Age of the late 1890s, when robber barons ran the government and the economy for their own benefit: Oligarchy is incompatible with the common good.

I'm hopeful we'll respond with a new progressive movement.

In 2016, Ghislaine Maxwell falsely stated, under oath, that she was not aware that Jeffrey Epstein recruited underage girls for sex (you know, the ones she was actually recruiting on his behalf). She was charged with two counts of perjury for this.

Remind me why we give a shit what she says now?

Every reputable expert I know considers mRNA vaccine technology to be one of the most revolutionary advances in medicine in our lifetimes. Its inventors won the Nobel Prize in 2023. Shutting it down now is pointless self-harm to humanity.
Release from HHS: HHS will wind down its development of the mRNA vaccine development activities under the Biomedical Advanced Research and Development Authority (BARDA).
