Interesting to watch online conservatives look for an offramp without handing it to the libs and they appear to be landing on the Second Amendment.

CPI is a fixed-weight basket of goods and services, but PCE inflation is weighted towards how consumers actually spend

When you look at the goods where people actually allocate their dollars and prices are less volatile, we're seeing some meaningful upside right now

*LEAVITT: TRUMP DID NOT DIRECT DOJ TO INVESTIGATE POWELL

The only way this could even go anywhere is if Trump marshaled all his will. It's not like there's an independent DOJ who has enough juice to pull this off.

I think there is a need for a fundamentally more pessimistic and risk-averse approach to the politics of 2026 and 2028 than I see most Democrats willing to embrace and it leaves me very worried despite the various cracks in Trump’s shell.

Once again, let me reiterate this this guy is a mouthpiece for authoritarianism. He proves it over and over again when he goes after Powell.
Guess the Fed chair should just always preemptively step down rather than do anything that the president might disagree with. That will do wonders for Fed independence

I don’t put too much weight on years of the presidential cycle but it’s crazy how just about every midterm year going back to 1990 — 1990, 1994, 1998, 2002, 2006, 2010, 2014, 2018, 2022 — was pretty challenging in markets. Two exceptions-ish were 2006 but that had a Q2 growth scare and 2014 (Ebola).

As a white college educated Democrat, I think we are correct about this and the majority is wrong.

But it’s a reminder that I live in a bit of a bubble (and met most of you on here are in it with me) in terms of people’s views on things.

First I saw Tyler the Creator & Abel Ferrara in there & thought...that's pretty awesome that's really going to work w a Safdie

Then on the trailer thought "is that o Leary?" & kinda negated the former
