bc this is the "its virtuous to be antisocial" website, I've seen ppl try and defend this behavior by saying earbuds cost too much, which really seems to ignore that a) this is very specifically something that ramped up post-pandemic and b) its a behavior that you come across globally on transit now

Some of the Women's March leaders/heads were not great people, and the leadership fell into infighting and drama, but all in all, 99.9% of the people involved/who marched were normal libs who went on to continue resisting fascism.
I think it's really bad that the antisemites at 50501 have dirtied the reputation of No Kings protests and they need to be fired out of a cannon into the sun but I also think it's really important to pull our head out of our ass and understand that 99% of No Kings attendees are still normal libs.

people say "bad writing" when they actually mean "writing by someone I think is bad", and I think that most people who write for a living are unsurprisingly pretty good at it, and that I'd be much worse under the same editing/ pressure. I say all this because I think the Nuzzi piece is actually bad
