'Remember, remember the 5th of November!' 🔥

These are thought to be the earliest photographs of a bonfire.

These photographs were taken in 1853 by John Dillwyn Llewelyn at Penllergare in Swansea 📷

Could you help us out? It's been one of the quietest months in a decade, and partly I believe it's because people don't know we exist! Hi! I'm Annie! I run Bad Squiddo Games! We hand sculpt & hand cast 28mm scale models of women, critters, scenics & occasionally a man!

It misses mention of fact that not-for-profit Galeri was one of the main drivers of that town's regeneration in the 90s & 2000s. Agree we need more 'regeneration companies', and this one (a @archhfund.org.uk #heritagedevelopmentrust) is well worth learning lessons from www.gov.wales/community-as....

Galeri Caernarfon Cyf is a not for private profit community enterprise operating as a development trust in the historic town of Caernarfon in Gwynedd.

If you'd visited Menai Bridge in the early 1900s, you might have popped into the Menai Café for a panad. We wonder if the passenger in the horse and cart did the same? 🍵

Another amazing museum item. 19th Century silver jewellery box in the form of a fish by K.P. Thakur & Bros, H. Kharagpur, Monghyr, India. Every scale and fin articulates. #wales #museum #colonialism #arwap

Most museums have a WW2 gas mask... but colonial links? Yes. Made from Malayan rubber, Egyptian/Indian cotton, Australian/Canadian asbestos in the filters. No Empire, no gas masks. #wales #museums #colonialism

For the last few years I've been delving into Welsh museums fora project on collections linked to Empire, Slavery and Colonisation. Loads of interesting stuff.

This manila was made from Welsh copper. It was used as ballast in ships then as money to buy enslaved Africans.

Farewell, Mike Peters. The saddest news about one of the nicest guys in rock.

The Alarm’s frontman spent much of the last 30 years living with cancer. His optimism and resilience in the face of adversity was inspiring. You lived a life of love, hope and strength. 💔
