Not only do fast-growing broiler chicken suffer many welfare issues, but consumers buying such meat are paying water for the price of protein.
Good that the Commission is rejecting calls to weaken rules that protect systems better for animals and consumer wallets.

Seeing as they've *already* evacuated all the fossil fuel and industrial agriculture lobbyists, maybe best to just not let them back in?

🚨Worrying news in Brussels.

The EU Commission is proposing to quietly slash Europe’s vital #pesticide safety laws – granting unlimited approvals & sidelining independent science.

This puts nature, workers safety & people's health at risk – just when stronger protections are needed.

📢 Alarm Bells: Unlimited Pesticides 📢

An internal EU Commission draft proposes unlimited pesticide approvals, scrapping science-based risk checks, and 3 extra years of use after bans.

This is so SPOT ON!
145 MEPs tabled a motion to refer the EU-Mercosur deal to the Court of Justice of the EU

The EPP wants to block that motion at a key meeting TONIGHT

Why? If the deal is legal, let the courts say so

What’s the EPP afraid of?

Is it because they think the court will find an issue?

Diets evolve faster than we think. In the UK, a long-running survey has tracked what families buy each week since 1940. The latest results reveal massive shifts in just three generations — and debunk the idea that our diets are purely cultural and unchangeable.

Yet more special treatment for the wine industry: no debate allowed on the new 🍷 package? 🙄

I’ve been in meetings where the industry has woefully complained young people aren’t drinking enough 🍷. Why do we need these interventions to prop it up though?
