Tired of the fake “climate vs wallets” debate? 😪

ETS2 (the EU carbon price for 🚗 & 🏠) is under heavy attack.

But the facts are clear: carbon pricing can lower pollution, fund clean heating & transport, and stop the poor from subsidising the rich.

This piece debunks economic myths 👇
Carbon pricing: good for citizens, good for the economy
Does carbon pricing harm the economy and punish poor households? This article debunks the main economic myths being used against ETS2.

💧🎉 25 years of the EU Water Framework Directive - protecting rivers, lakes & coasts as a shared public good.

Now it’s at risk: @ec.europa.eu has promised to amend the WFD. This would weaken protections against pollution, biodiversity loss & climate impacts🚨

We say no! Time to #ProtectWater

⏳ GET YOUR HOUSE IN ORDER — ASAP

With Europe’s leaders in Brussels to debate Ukraine funding and the next EU budget, many other key stories slipped under the radar this week. One thing is clear: Europe needs to get its own house in order.

2️⃣0️⃣2️⃣5️⃣ has been a wobbly year for our democracies...

But our right to participate in decisions about our environment is protected by the #AarhusConvention ⚖️

Europe is on a mission to #RestoreNature! We checked if all EU countries are up to speed 🌱

Good news: Most EU countries have started implementing the Nature Restoration Law
Not so good news: The progress is uneven & too slow so far

#FarmerProtests are back - but will policymakers listen?

With #BigAgri exploiting farmers anger to block change, smaller farmers are folding under under economic and climate pressures

We need a #FoodSystem that works for all, not the few!

When farmers protest, who wins? - New Leaf
Angry farmers seize headlines and political agendas with their loud, road-blocking, city-stopping protests. But are their calls being heard?

Member States were loud and clear: the environmental and economic impacts of ultra- #fastfashion can’t be ignored any longer.

Countries support modulated fees that penalise the commercial practices driving overproduction in the #fashion sector, making polluters pay for the waste they generate.

Last week, 66 civil society organisations also called on @ec.europa.eu to support national actions to ensure Extended Producer Responsibility schemes rein in the most harmful commercial practices in the #textile sector.

📈Soaring volumes of clothing sales mean more items being discarded, and faster - driving #textiles collectors and sorters to breaking point.

⚠️@ec.europa.eu must not curtail national action against #fashion overproduction.

💚It would also reduce unnecessary safety risks and #ewaste

The EEB welcomes the new Affordable Housing Plan - a step to tackle our housing crisis.

Renovation, repurposing & tackling vacancy are key to make European housing more affordable, climate- & nature-friendly.

🚨 The EU Commission is tearing down pesticide safeguards that protect our health.

Open-ended approvals. More time for toxic chemicals. Less science. More exposure - for farmers, families, all of us.

This is not simplification. It’s dangerous.

The European Parliament & Council must stop it. Now 📢

🗑️💢 @europarl.europa.eu just cleared away the few remaining environmental safeguards in EU farming policy

Two rushed rounds of so-called “simplifications” have gutted years of progress and handed #BigAgri exactly what it wanted: money to pollute with no strings attached ✂️

🧑‍🍼 It's a... soil law! 🎉

Europe’s #SoilMonitoringLaw enters into force today – meaning that the EU's first ever soil law has a b-earth-day!

But dad jokes aside, the real test starts now.

Given the law’s high flexibility, serious impact will depend on ambitious implementation by Member States.

A handful of corporations control what we eat - and profit from it 👨‍💼🤑

Seeds, pesticides, machinery, carbon credits, fertilisers, even poultry genetics. That’s not free choice - that’s corporate monopolies.
