🔴 Too often, defenders face polluted rivers, illegal deforestation, or toxic air - and find no clear path to justice when national institutions fail them.

This new portal changes that. It guides users step-by-step to find the right international body to turn to.

In its Civil Society Strategy, due out next week, @ec.europa.eu must treat civic space as a strategic asset – not an afterthought. This means:

✅ Stable and independent funding for CSOs
✅ Fair, transparent rules that apply to all
✅ Meaningful participation in EU decision-making

⚠️ Efforts to delegitimise, defund or restrict civil society are no longer isolated. They are appearing across Europe – including here in Brussels.

Without an independent civil society, corporate lobbies will fill the void. Important protections will be rolled back in the name of “efficiency.”

🫣 Imagine waking up in a Europe where you can’t trust the water from your tap, the air you breathe, or the food on your plate. Where no one checks if rules are enforced and disinformation goes unchallenged.

That’s not dystopia - it’s the logical outcome of a trend already visible across Europe.

We call out those ghosting their climate duties, spotlight the threats facing NGOs, and celebrate cities proving the movement for people & planet is very much alive.

And speaking of life - it’s alive! - the EU’s first-ever Soil Monitoring Law is here, a rare green victory in an age of rollback.
