The good news: the president has pardoned the turkey.

The bad news: two hours later the turkey was arrested for running a ponzi scheme and committing acts of gross sexual imposition.

I don't think you need to think there will be long term shifts in Trump's policies or behavior (there won't be) to enjoy what just happened, sometimes it's good to enjoy things that are funny in the moment

I would happily have abandoned social media for group chats years ago, but alas, that would require me to belong somewhere.

This isn't just about shutting down pro-immigration groups. It's about making regular people afraid to tweet, to talk to their friends, to show up at protests, to say anything at all.

"I'm not famous. I don't have the money to fight back. I'd better keep my mouth shut & let someone else risk it."
Stephen Miller tweeted that calling ICE authoritarian "incites violence and terrorism." This wasn't just the usual fascist bluster. It was a signal.

I asked Bannon if Miller will seek to prosecute groups that use this language about ICE

Discovering computer as an adult makes you go crazy. Discovering computer as a baby makes you go crazy. In all of human history, there will only ever be one generation to discover computer at the correct age: 13
The problem with every post-Millennial generation is they got to go straight to high speed internet. Of course you'll get computer madness that way. Make them start with those old screeching modems and work their way up

If I remember correctly, studies tend to talk about the late forties as the time when happiness bottoms out. As someone entering their mid forties, it's interesting to watch this happen. Just disappointed with everybody and everything (myself included). It's so draining.

I have that feeling today where I'm just tired of everything and nothing seems interesting. Every book feels like something I've read. Every food is too much like something I've eaten. I'm only in my forties but the world feels like it has run out of novelty.
