If I were Gavin, I wouldn't even wait for Washington to stop the aid. Just send a message, "NM...we got this" and carry on to take care of the CA people. The longer we sit and wait for their move, the weaker we get.

Absolutely. I'm down with that. We should have done that a long time ago. If Washington tries to stop aid for the fire recovery, we should without what they refuse to give us (back) from our federal contributions to cover it. I mean... even Trump wants that!
