My main GM advice for #TTRPGs is don't be afraid to say "I need a minute." No-one will ever be annoyed by it; it doesn't interrupt flow. It does reduce pressure and allows more interesting things to happen when used judiciously.

Offer it to players too—they need to think they say, "Gimme a minute."
Wouldn't mind seeing something on Old School Stylish.

Really feel we're at the point of *Gaming Generations* where inter-generational connections between gaming styles, the OSR, storygames, etc. can be really played with by people still in touch with everything. #TTRPG
I write a lot of my long threads in advance, often multiple at a time. Of these threads I have partially done, which would yall want to see posted next?

1) Break! RPG review
2)Old School Stylish post mortem
3)Resident Evil 2 retrospective

A thread doesn’t mean it won’t be on the blog too btw

In my new place I'm gonna have a bigger desk so I can keep important things like notebooks and custard creams close to hand.🧠

I don't like D&D in any form and prefer other systems that suit my needs.

However, my current group loves it; I've run 5e for the last 9 months because I'm feeding off of their enthusiasm. It's great fun.

I'm a believer that it's *who* you play with that makes a good game, not so much the system.

Finally feeling better after my surgery, to the point medical elements are just annoying now.

Hoping to get back to my VtM game by next weekend or the start of the week after that.

Then it's my Traveller duet game. I want to start working out the political alliances in my subsectors this weekend.

Looking through MTrav 1e's Merchant Prince (privateers) There's a lot to get a handle on in Traveller before my campaign.

And it's not mechanics, but mechanics indicating methods of interaction and opportunities for "game" all from small little asides buried over various books. There's *a lot!*

Yeah, you could say I'm a bit of a TTRPG player... A dice roller... A Games Master!

*waits for emails of bundles of PDFs I can buy*

Gaming Resolution for 2025 (Abridged Edition): Finally move into my new place so I'll be within walking distance of "places" where people "socialise" then attempt to "socialise" via the medium of "games."

RPG Year in Review: It started with me getting a house (this is important...) Pulling out 10yo boxes to arrange for when I finally move (actually move? haha...)

This meant I saw my old RPG books in them.

A few months later I'm now running a VTM game, planning a Traveller game And! more nerd stuff.

Remember! If you missed bin day other people didn't and their bins are out on the street and probably empty!

This! So much this!

And in real life space getting the small little trinket someone just made for laffs.

And if you really are broke reviewing something, a genuine heartfelt review you share.

The money can truly matter but it's the offering of real kindness that gets you.
Do you know what feels really good? Slinging $10 at a modder or community creator for something you usually enjoy for free.
Seriously, it's like £8.30 in UK money.
Get s small but significant dopamine hit for saying thanks for all the other little dopamine hits they gave you.

Debating if my current cheapo Aldi candle runs out tonight whether I'm bold enough to light the Soft Cashmere candle I got for Christmas.

It's the standard pre new candle nerves. And this is a very real anxiety covered in all the best medical manuals.

This just makes natural business sense. If you want to sell to an entirety of a market you need people who have knowledge of the entire market, especially in actual experience.

The issue, in general, is needing to move away from diversity box ticking and towards people with embedded understanding.

Them: Any plans for New Years?
Me: Same as usual. Plan to avoid the Hootenanny and inevitably end up watching the Hootenanny.

I need to source a little, cuddly Godzilla outfit (decent quality but not too expensive) in the EU or maybe the UK in time for my niece's first birthday in April.🦎

An old theory in photography is amateurs are more "artists" then professional as they're not constrained by commercial appeal. (Also includes trust fund kids, to a degree.) People are *free.*

It applies to any art. Just look at all the write-by-numbers fiction that's basic generic *genre* writing.
It may surprise some people that fiction can be made just for fun and with no commercial objective. Like, maybe you write it and people ask “well, have you sold any books?” and if not, they say you’re not a writer. But don’t let that mindset stop you from playing with fiction as part of any #ttrpg

one thing I do not miss about when this place was much smaller is being forced to know about every blood feud against my will

sometimes these days I run into two posters having a fight to the death and I don’t know who either of them are or why they hate each other and I think that’s wonderful

Had surgery today (I'm fine.) What's weird is waking up from it I had a mini-dream/persistent thought last with me.

In my mind I was being hella trans and hella into TTRPGs. Which is really fucking cool that my brain recognised the two important things to me atm while me guts were being cut open.

Vampire: Bloodlines canonically exists in my setting/city after the Prince met the coterie in a nightclub and made them all dance.

They did the Vampire: Bloodlines dance.🤣

I just ordered this as my library trip/TTRPG/GMing bag. Should be fine for a few RPG books, some paper and some pens.

And I can't wait until I'm in the new place and able to walk to the library!

All kitted out to be a roving GM; I've got the books and something to carry them in, the snacks, the earpods and the charging device for everything. As well of course as the voucher for getting the paints I need for the minis.

Did I mention the snacks? There's also a candle in the tiny box.
