LLM in Human Rights. Opinions are my own, reposts not an endorsement. Cyclist, da, flatmate to Finrod (friend to man). Cat pics, Phillies, some law, tech and internet policy (day job), the odd Bucky/Klaes gif. Oh! And RPG stuff (mainly Call of Cthulhu).

My avatar pic was taken last August. It is me back at one of the most important places in my life, cycling or otherwise.
My thread about the Best Bike Shop I have ever had the good fortune to be in. (Although Edinburgh’s Bike Craft come a close second and have never let me down)

Grew up (in the 80s) with this buke around the gaff constantly because the ma is a massive foucaultian scholar.
Man, I have seen all the crazy 80s covers of the bald French fecker.
I have not read any of them. Not a one.

The downside to the Saipan film if it’s as good as Good Vibrations will be the endless opinions by British people on it. I suppose the thing to do is just nod the head agreeably and let all the bollix wash over you, and practice not getting angry at poorly informed thinking with no cultural context.

It's also a dialogue between two ideas about Irishness - one, Mick McCarthy's second-generation diaspora sentiment and gentleness, the other Roy Keane's angry, diamond-hard need to prove that there's more to Ireland than being the entertaining sidekick to the main event.

This film is so much on my watch list. Good Vibrations is an all time classic.
I will need to see it with my ma if possible so we can relive the trauma.

SAIPAN, Glenn Leyburn & Lisa Barros d'Sa's new movie, feels very much to me like a follow-up to their Good Vibrations in its focus on someone who is more interested in being themselves than being successful, even if - as in this case - it means missing out on playing in the World Cup.

I did a keynote on this last month. Simple questions for the audience:
1) How did you learn what “good work output” looks like in your job?
2) what of those processes is your organisation using GenAI for?
3) In 5 years time, how will your equivalent have learned what “good work output” looks like?

I always think that Stoker has a face that wouldn’t seem out of place in a Dublin jersey.
Bram Stoker born November 8, 1847, Marino Crescent, Dublin:
"The last I saw of Count Dracula was his kissing his hand to me, with a red light of triumph in his eyes, and with a smile that Judas in hell might be proud of."

He’d never preached before. But in 1990, Jack Hibbard became the Phillies chaplain.
Jack Hibbard, a Burlington County native, was the club’s chaplain from 1990 to 2000. It was a dream job full of colorful moments, especially in 1993.
