Listed are some of the many NIH research training programs that were terminated! Together, these programs supported thousands of trainees, whose careers are now in limbo. Such a great loss for discovery and innovation. We must protect our next generation of scientists!

Jay Bhattacharya, the NIH Director, thinks that if science isn’t popular it should be abandoned.

“No matter how elegant the science, a platform that lacks credibility among the people it seeks to protect cannot fulfill its public health mission”.

He is unfit for his job in every imaginable way.

This is devastating. We’ve stopped training the next generation of scientists.

PhD student mentoring is the most rewarding part of being a professor. You get to be part of building the future. And now we aren’t able to admit a new class next year.

Heartbreaking is exactly the right word.
This is my institution. These are the people I work with making these decisions. The situation is heartbreaking. Public medical schools have no other choice; there is no other source of funding, and everyone in academia is at extreme risk right now.

Once again, I have to ask. What is it about destroying the high quality of USA universities, which of course will happen if funding and staff are reduced, that makes America Great? Surely, it just diminishes it both at home and globally?
