At the same time the NY Times was hyping Hillary Clinton's emails, it had a reporter with emails from Jeffrey Epstein that were highly damaging to Trump.

The more NYT apologists try to minimize this the clearer it becomes that they don't understand why much of the public doesn't trust legacy media.

In Bovino's upside down world, there is no difference between an armed gang member preying on others in his community and a guy working 12 hours a day washing cars, flipping burgers, or installing sheetrock to feed his family — and he wants you to hate and fear both men equally.
Bovino: "Whether they were criminals or individuals that were taking jobs from Americans -- you name it, that's what they were doing. And I'll tell you what's gonna happen. We're gonna go even harder on the streets. If he releases those 650, we're gonna apprehend 1,650 on the streets of Chicago."

The strike is not about whether or not you approve of Starbucks coffee. It's about the workers, who like all workers deserve equitable treatment and fair pay. That is the issue. Why bring up your personal feelings about the coffee? Nobody in this conversation cares. Start another thread about it.

National media: “YES, give us every detail from DNC/Hillary emails hacked by opponents trying to destroy her—we will file daily stories!”

Also: “Hacked emails about Trump and little girls? Nah…he’s too good for business, let’s move along, shall we?”

Conservatives: “The media is biased against us.”

The anti immigrant rage was never about going after criminals.
It was always about going after those who aren't EuroAngloNordic-White.
In April, state + fed police raided a bday party near Austin, arresting ~50 people including nine kids.

Cops claimed w/o evidence they’d busted a Tren de Aragua gathering, + only charged two people w/ a crime.

Now, the local DA has dropped both charges

Prosecutors Drop Only Criminal Cases from Hays County Airbnb Raid
Pending drug charges have been abandoned from the multi-agency April operation that supposedly targeted Tren de Aragua and led to multiple deportations.

The released emails shine a new light on Bannon's attempts to rehabilitate Epstein’s public image.
Steve Bannon is all over the newly released Jeffrey Epstein emails, raising questions about the 15 hours of interviews he has promised to release
Newly released emails to and from the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein include correspondence with former Trump strategist Steve Bannon, expanding on previous reporting that Bannon had up to 15 hours...

As someone who has frequently defended free speech rights of sex workers and sex work advocates, it's completely unsurprising but nevertheless galling to be reminded once again how POWERFUL MEN talk fondly about sex work in private while demonizing it and pushing oppressive laws about it publicly.

As Ta-Nehisi Coates said last month:

“.. it’s either one of two things: either you’re cowards or you’re with him. And if you’re with him, you never believed in the things you were talking about to begin with.”
Breaking News: Cornell University reached an agreement with the Trump administration that would restore hundreds of millions in funding to the university. It's expected to pay a $30 million fine to the government and to invest $30 million in agriculture and farming programs.
Cornell Reaches Deal with Trump Administration to Restore Research Funds
The Ivy League university had warned of layoffs after the Trump administration stripped it of funds this year. The cuts were among the deepest in higher education.

Noah Models was featured in this 2011 PBS documentary, about 12, 13 year old girls being scouted in Siberia for international modeling, and the predatory results.

I can remember when it was a scandal if the 18 weeks wait figure dropped below 95%. It was only about 10-12 years ago.

The collapse in NHS performance under the last government was truly staggering, and went well beyond the pandemic.
New NHS England stats, via NHS Confederation:

"The total waiting list for procedures and appointments has dropped to 7.39 million in September, down from 7.41 million in August.

"The proportion of people waiting less than 18 weeks for care stood at 61.8% in September, up from 61.0% in August."

Yeah, I’m going to re-emphasize that in 2015, Michael Wolff was already predicting Trump’s presidency as a moment where people simply had to claim to be victims of political correctness, and they could be forgiven for *child sex trafficking.*
Something absolutely perfect about Larry Summers riffing about the scourge of woke cancel culture being unfair to predatory men in a friendly email to his pal JEFFREY EPSTEIN.

Trump refusing to use the old system of vetting by DOJ of pardon requests means that the most deserving who used to make the cut out of 1000s - decades old smaller cases of people who turned their lives around - get ignored. Now the pardons go to rich connected Republican felons.

FYI, the phrase "the dog who hasn't barked" means the absence of an expected event from Sherlock Holmes. A guard dog's silence about an intruder is key, implying the intruder was known to the dog. The phrase highlights the silent party that should have spoken out, suggesting implicit complicity.

House Dems on oversight releasing these emails and controlling the narrative is the kind of shit republicans always do but they have to make shit up and mischaracterize their source material. The House Dems have proven my thesis that this can be done effectively without lying. Well done.

I like how this also lays bare Trump's entire business career as one big scam.
The Kremlin disguised a nearly $100 mn payment to Trump in the form of a brokered real estate deal... and both Jeffrey Epstein and William Pulte were involved in the deal. That's very interesting.

This is far worse than anyone expected.

Trump's HUD plan would cut *two-thirds* of permanent housing and push as many as 170,000 formerly homeless people back onto the street—redirecting funds to work mandates, forced treatment, and encampment sweeps.

All as mass internment camps are being built.
