🚨BREAKING NEWS🚨
NEWLY RELEASED DfT data for 2024 shows that, contrary to some claims, A205 South Circular traffic has not "got worse" since Lewisham's LTN was introduced.

Average daily traffic has fallen: 23,997 in 2019 (pre-LTN) to 20,538 in 2024. A 14.4% reduction! 🧵1/4...
Local anti-LTN campaigner posted this picture of Lee High Rd (with its 3m wide pavements, no pavement parking, speed cameras/20mph limit & bus stop) in her attack on the Active Travel Strategy - forgetting it undermines her claim of "post-LTN 24/7 gRiDlOcK" on the same road 🤣

London is rocking! Lots of footage. I'm doing a short bit on the 1:1 bike:car ratio in Central London & in 2 hours I probably shot all I need. SEE THIS SHOT!

1) Watch how fast the car gives up trying to turn

2) The number of bike riders is so huge they all couldn't get thru one light cycle!!

How easily we take for granted what has got better, how much our political discourse calls regulation a cost when there were reasons behind all of it, and how we rarely hear the stories of success.

I knew it! I've always thought this was wrong....

Train announcer: "Stand *behind* the yellow line".

Me: "No I wont, because that's really dangerous. I'll stand in front of it."

In Germany they have plenty of space for bikes on the train. They also have a defibrillator for if you found the cycle to the station challenging. 🤣

Yet another serious crash on the supposed 20mph Hither Green Lane - a convenient rat run through a residential neighborhood for drivers avoiding the South Circular. When will the you restrict through-traffic here?
March 1, 2025 at 4:56 PM
@serailway.bsky.social When you're running a 8 car services with a noticeboard saying "usually standing room only" how about increasing it to 10 or 12 cars. Your 12 car passing services often have loads of space with no one standing. How about having them stop more as they enter inner London?

Why am I not surprised that Lewisham's residual anti-LTNer, that would rather the focus was on improving bus services instead of LTNs, hasn't yet praised TfL for today's announcement about new and extended bus routes from Lewisham 🤔🙄

Ferry loses 20% of capacity due to growth in size of cars
www.bbc.co.uk/news/article... There's an interesting couple of numbers tucked away in this story - a ferry built in 1993 to carry up to 110 cars now carries only 90. Due to "autobesity", almost 20% of its vehicle capacity has been lost simply due to bigger and fatter modern cars

This video is an excellent resource to rationally explain the biases against transportation modes outside of cars.

It’s a great one to share with friends and family who might be open to a logical discussion about our current motoring environment and the changes we need to consider.

Lewisham's Low Traffic Neighborhood (LTN) was installed in mid-2020. Those who argue it worsened pollution on the A205 South Circular should check the Breathe London monitor situated on a lamppost on the A205 pavement, near Wellmeadow Road. This data contradicts those claims.

Look, I understand the 20mph limit in London is frustrating for some drivers, but there's no need to drive erratically to push in front as you'll only end up sitting at a red light seconds later.

This is what goes on in their head. "Must... Get... To... Red... Light... First..." 🤪

Today I have eaten toasted panettone for breakfast. A large bowl of crisps for lunch. I'm currently snacking on a tub of chewy sweets whilst contemplating eating yesterday's left over Christmas Dinner & pud. Sure, it's not good for my physical health, but it's working wonders for my mental health 😀

On my bike I once pulled in, at the side of the road, to take a phone call. A car started beeping at me, telling me to "move or get on the pavement"
"Why?" I asked.
"Because I want to park there" the driver replied.
"But I'm parked here" I said.
...He just didn't comprehend it 🤷🏼‍♂️
