Since the LTN was introduced in mid-2020, NO2 levels at that spot have fallen EVERY. SINGLE. YEAR.
By 2023, it had dropped to 29.0 µg/m³, a 35% reduction.
More recent real-time data from May 2025 shows average hourly NO2 levels at Wellmeadow/A205 remain low at 15.2 µg/m³ 🧵4/4.

In Germany they have plenty of space for bikes on the train. They also have a defibrillator for if you found the cycle to the station challenging. 🤣

There is also another air quality monitor on the Lewisham stretch of the A205 South Circular, opposite Bowness Road.
It too shows consistent falls in pollution year on year since the LTN was installed.

Preparations underway for the new lifts and footbridge at Hither Green train station. If you zoom in you can see how badly delayed the original bridge is.
Despite the disruption, this is a much needed development that will benefit all travellers and make the station properly accessible for all.

There's lots of low hanging fruit & quick wins you can make with @LewishamCouncil We've hardly any large cycle lanes, virtually no Santander bikes, & only one LTN.
Reasons for this are lack of funding, not lack of will or ambition.

For the £54m cost of the failed "Garden Bridge" in London, 108,000 new street trees (costing ~£500 each) could have been planted. 3,375 for each of London's 32 boroughs! 🌳🌳
